what support do i get for my CHILDren?
The province of South Tyrol supports families with money. There are various possibilities:
- I receive the provincial family allowance until the child ist 3 years old. The money ist granted regardless of income.
- I receive the provincial family allowance + in addition to the provincial family allowance if the father takes parental leave for at least two months.
- I receive the provincial child allowance for each child up to the age of 18. Children with a disability also receive it for longer. The provincial child allowance depends on the amount of my income.
There are requirements for the benefits. If I am a citizen of the European Union, I must have an employment relationship. If I am from a country outside the European Union, I must
- have been resident in South Tyrol for at least 5 years;
- both parents, mother and father, must have language skills in German or Italian (level A2);
- both parents must know the culture of South Tyrol;
- the children must attend the compulsory education.
Financial aid for families: you get financial aid by ASWE Agency for Social and Economic Development.

Where do I register for language and culture courses?

Social and cultural courses (9 hours) an language courses (up to 80 hours) are offered. Further information is available at the "Koordinierungsstelle für Integration (KOI)".
